The Metropolitan Poll Vol. 6: Iona Remains on Top, Fordham Takes a Big Jump

Welcome, hoops fans! As our Metropolitan Poll teams resume their schedules, our pundits weigh in on where they rank at the halfway point of the 2020-2021 season. There was a pretty decent amount of movement this week, so without further ado, let's get right into it with this week's Metro Poll results:

Poll Reaction

As we progress further and further into this season, I think this list is on it's way to stagnating as we figure out the skill level of each team. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, and there is always room for upsets and unprecedented results. While I think Iona would lose to St. John's if they were to play against each other this year, I still think they are deserving of that top spot due to the fact that they, along with Hofstra, have the best chance of making the NCAA Tournament out of any other team on this list. St. John's is still an NIT team in my book, and could even fall out of that position if they keep dropping games in the Big East.

The biggest jump in the poll this week was from the Fordham Rams, who rose from last all the way to tied at fourth with St. Francis. This jump comes largely from their Tuesday victory over Dayton, which finished 55-54. Fordham is finally coming together as a team and finding their identity, but in a short season like this, they have a lot of ground to make up in a very short period of time.

Manhattan College is our biggest dipper this week. Splitting their series against Quinnipiac, the Jaspers just can't seem to get a decent foothold in the MAAC.
