The Metropolitan Poll Vol. 7: Manhattan Pulls Above .500

Another week, another Metro Poll. We've got some decent movement in this week's edition, so let's get right into it.

The Poll:

Poll Reaction:

I'm happy to see Manhattan rise a few spots. The way the MAAC and other conferences are conducting their schedules can be grueling, so it's hard to gain an upper hand on opponents when your time to prepare between games is within a day. Any conferences that conduct their schedules like this are going to be a dog fight, and it'll be hard to really see who comes out on top until their respective tournaments finish.

Fordham comes off a relatively disappointing week after dropping two more to Saint Bonaventure and UMass. While I didn't think Fordham would win those games, they barely put up a fight in either, and when they did, it was too little too late. Being a second half team is a good quality to have, but not when you get so blown out in the first half that it's impossible to come back.

The top two dogs are separated once again by just a point. If St. John's were to take that one at home against Marquette, they probably would have dethroned Iona, but alas, they continue to play the role of Luigi. They have a tough opponent this week in No. 25 UCONN, so their chances of taking the top spot back next week look pretty slim.
