Email Newsletters aren't dead. Tyler Morin, Founder of 'The Water Coolest', has proved they're alive

Email isn't sexy. We've heard that term hundreds of times by companies and brands. It's all about social media, TikTok, NFT's. But get one thing straight, email marketing and newsletters are not dead.

The global e-mail marketing market was valued at $7.5 billion in 2020 and is projected to increase to $17.9 billion by 2027. There are 4 billion daily email users. More than 306 billion emails are sent and received each day.

Tyler Morin took advantage of that. The UConn alumni, who had a nice corporate job in the financial world knew he was onto something when he decide to mass-distribute digestible, easy-to-understand business content to young professionals over email.

He created 'The Water Coolest', which is a free newsletter drops daily at 6AM EST. It dives into what's going on in the business world and stock market in a casual and friendly approach. Many said he was crazy going against the grain, but he kept course and built something worth reading.

After 4 years of vast growth, Barstool Sports acquired the brand to help expand content and drive further engagement in areas beyond sports and pop culture. Water Coolest has expanded their horizons with the outlet of more viewers, and Tyler is now head of their newsletter operations and is launching their Barstool Finance department.

We had the opportunity to chat with JP Morin Chase this week and his interview comes in at the 13:17 mark. He takes us through his journey of leaving his day job, his new endeavor in “The Family Office,” and the best thing to order at Colony Pizza in Fairfield, Connecticut.
