Are the Islanders, dare I say, back?

Well, hello there. A nice little win streak against some real winners, heck three former playoff contenders and the reigning Stanley Cup Champs. I know it's early in the season and the Islanders are just above .500, but you have to smile after a week like this.

It could have been a dreadful week, especially after losing three straight games to the Devils, Panthers, and Lightning. Everyone looked at this past weeks schedule and flinched a little. Everyone, except the Islanders themselves.

There were just a lot of "yes, yes, yes" moments that made the win streak sweeter. Shutting out the Rangers. Coming back against the Avalanche after being down 3-0. Josh Bailey scored on his 1,000th game as an Islander. Brock Nelson scored three goals in two games to continue his Brocktober in style. Varlamov became the 12th goalie in team history to record 50 wins.

Let the good times roll, hopefully the streak rolls into November. LFGI!
