Betting The Bracket: NIT - March 14th

Rutgers ML and Hofstra +6.5

Rutgers is going to win the whole damn thing. They should be busting brackets in the big dance right now. I love the Scarlet Knights, but I gotta tip my cap and give a shoutout to the Hofstra Pride. What a season, they went 24-9 overall and 16-2 in CAA competition, tied for first with Charleston. Hofstra had solid nonconference victories against Princeton in the opener – the Pride won 83-77. Princeton won the Ivy League Tournament on Sunday and Iona (83-78) in the second game of the season. The Pride also beat then-No. 18 Charleston 85-81 in January. Give me a strong cover by the Pride.

Michigan ML and Toledo +6.5

I feel like this is a rat line. A Big 10 Team should smoke a MAC team, right? Toledo is a phenomenal team, at one point they won 17 in a row. They have MAC player of the year in RayJ Dennis and they can shoot the ball very well. However, Hunter Dickinson is going to give this team a problem. I think it's a close matchup, but Michigan has to win this.

Villanova ML

The disrespect to the Wildcats. Underdogs??? I know the Liberty Flames had a fantastic season, but come on. This Nova team was heating up at the right time, and despite the Big East loss, Brandon Slater and Eric Dixon both had strong showings in the tournament. I love the upset here.

Yale +3

I swore Yale was going to win the Ivy. Brutal loss, but that's the Ivy. Vanderbilt lost to the Texas A&M Aggies 87-75. Both teams are going to be hungry, so I'll go with the smarter school to cover.

Bradley +3.5

This bet is a complete gut check. Wisconsin almost beat Ohio State, but either way, they are trash (Sorry Big Cat). They'll win this game, but expect Bradley to come out hot

Seton Hall +3.5

Seton Hall was a bubble team with Sha, but ultimately fell short. Meanwhile, Colorado has been on a downhill spiral, as they went 6-10 SU and 6-9-1 ATS in the last 16 games overall. Give me the Pirates to sneak out a cover.
