BREAKING: It's time to cook baby! Giants hire Bill's Joe Schoen as the next General Manager.

It's a new dawn...

It's a new day...

It's a new life...

For me...

And I'm feeling good

QUEUE THE MUSIC!

Exciting times for the New York Giants world and finally something to look forward. The word is out and President John Mara, chairman Steve Tisch and senior vice president of player personnel Chris Mara made the call on Joe Schoen becoming the next General Manager of the New York Giants.

Schoen has 20 years of scouting and executive experience in the NFL, most recently as the Buffalo Bill's assistant GM. He spent most of his career with the Dolphins, moving up the ranks and impressing the league. You can pin point the Bills success with some of the work Joe Schoen has done the past five years. Joe Schoen's Buffalo Bills are the TOP ranked defense in points allowed per game (17) and THIRD-ranked offense with 28.4 points per game.

"I work with the analytics department, I work with our personnel department, sometimes with football operations, I work with our communications. I touch a lot of different departments throughout the building ... A lot of my background is the personnel, so watching film -- pro, college draft prospects, free agency, the waiver wire -- that's a majority of my day." - Joe Schoen via The Buffalo News

He understands the importance of building from the draft and got a ringing endorsement from former Giants head coach Bill Parcells, who hired Schoen to be a scout with the Dolphins. I mean look at how hot the Bills have been since he's been there? Josh Allen, Tre'Davious White, Dawson Knox, you name it. Schoen presents what the Giants need, a respected and experienced talent evaluator who has helped build a winning franchise.

The choice was between Ryan Poles (Chiefs Executive Director of Personnel), Adam Peters (49ers Assistant GM), and Schoen. All were qualified, but the Bills assistant GM gets the nod.

The opportunities are endless, as ownership as stated to all the candidates, and now Schoen specifically, "here's a blank check, make this better". They are offering carte blanche to reshape the organization. The Giants way of operating is about to change drastically, and now let's hire a good head coach. Brian Flores incoming?! Maybe even Brian Daboll? I am HYPED!
