Met Life: A win over the Eagles which hopefully wasn't Saquon's last as a Giant.

After five straight losses in this NFC East matchup, the Giants finally take home a win against the Eagles. This game was a double-edged sword. On one hand, they took down Philadelphia, which lost their shot at the NFC East crown. On the other, they now fall to the 6th pick in the draft, after boasting a 6-11 record. Reports are saying that Daniel Jones is the week one starter, so who knows what the plan is going to be.

That's a conversation for another day, today, we are here to talk about Saquon Barkley. The 2x Pro-Bowler is set to hit free agency again this offseason. They should have locked him down last offseason and tagged Daniel Jones, but that's neither here nor there. Today, we saw a vintage Saquon.

He had 97 total yards in the game vs the Eagles; 46 rushing and 51 receiving, plus two touchdowns. Saquon finished the 2023 season with 1,242 total yards. When he's healthy, he produces and leads this team to victory. Now, they will need to make a major franchise decision in the offseason. Do they let Saquon walk, or do they make him a Giant for life?

Fans (and Saquon), want that to happen. I think the organization wants and understands that too. The issue that stands will be the price. The running back market isn't what it used to be, and the opportunity for massive market money is going to be in question.

But how do you measure someone who is more than just a running back? He is an offensive weapon, he is a receiving option, he is a scorer, and he is a leader on this team.
