Met Life: Tenacious D? Tenacious Defense. Giants beat the Ravens in the Wink reunion game.

Are you done doubting this team?

Are you done questioning Daniel Jones' grit?

Are you not entertained with this new coaching staff and rookie class?

This is the New York Football Giants and they are 5-1 in 2022. Who had that on their bingo cards?

In the best start since 2009, the GMen are taking the league by storm. They knocked off two former No. 1 seeds and now the former MVP. It hasn't been pretty, but hey, that's football.

The way this team wins is remarkable. Offensively, the Giants leading receiver had 38 yards (Bellinger). They didn't product a 20+ yard play in the entire game, and they were outgained drastically 406-238. Yet they beat the Ravens?

Daball gets the credit, but Wink Martindale deserves some notoriety. In a reunion game against his old team, he showed the world that his scheme works, despite not having key players of the past (Blake Martinez, James Bradberry, and Logan Ryan) and present (Cor’Dale Flott and Azeez Ojulari).

The box score doesn't tell the story of this defense. Lamar threw for over 200 yards and rushed for 77, yet his time in the pocket was spent scrambling, being sacked by Dexter Lawrence and Kaybon Thibodeux, while also fumbling in the final play tryingt to attempt a comeback. He completed 17 of 32 of his passes and one was intercepted by Julian Love. They forced field goals instead of touchdowns, and they even disrupted Mr. Automatic Justin Tucker, making him miss his first field goal since Week 10 of last year.

Obviously others you have to tip your cap to. Daniel Jones is playing some of his best football since his rookie year. Saquon Barkley is an MVP canidate. Graham Gano is one of the best kickers in the league. Joe Schoen's rookie class began paying dividends. Both Wan'Dale Robinson and Daniel Bellinger scored touchdowns. Evan Neal played his best game anchoring the line. Kayvon Thibodeaux secured the victory with the game winning strip sack. The future looks bright, but the present is just as sweet.

Next Game

Giants/Jags for Week 7. I was bullish on Jacksonville, but they just blew it against the mediocre Colts. Right now, the book says New York is +3, uhhhh what? If I can get in on this plus money (again), I am hammering it like crazy.
