Outfield depth added. Yanks sign 3x Gold Glover and All-Star, Ender Inciarte to a minor league deal.

Oh? A Cashman revelation project or just a smokescreen?

Well, this will have to do until the lockout ends. A former All-Star center fielder with a couple of gold gloves under his belt, I'll take it! Inciarte was able to sign a minor league deal because he did not finish the 2021 season on a team’s 40-man roster or 60-day injured list.

Ender Inciarte, alongside Dansby Swanson, came over to the Braves from the Diamondbacks a few years ago. In his first three seasons in Atlanta, he was hitting a clip of .287/.342/.391 with stellar defense and speedy baserunning. Could be a Tyler Wade esque player but without the infield utility?

Unfortunately, his production with the Braves declined over the years in terms of bat production. He also fell on the IL the past few years. He won't be the starting center fielder, but he could definitely offer some depth, especially with Brett Gardner's possible departure, and the substractions of Clint Frazier, Tyler Wade, Tim Locastro, and Greg Allen. What does the outfield look like heading into the new year?
