Rhode Island Hoops Player of the Week: Devin Carter, Providence

We are BACK. For those returning, welcome back, and for those new, howdy. This blog series is dedicated to highlighting the Ocean State and the four division I teams that make up the 401. Sometimes overshadowed by Providence, other times overlooked as a whole, the Rhode Island college basketball landscape is strong, and deserves their roses each and every season.

The Rhode Island Hoops Player of the Week will award the best and brightest from either Brown, Bryant, Providence, or URI. This series will drop every Monday morning. I delayed the first week in order for the teams to get some reps and games in, and then of course for the holiday break. Now, without further ado, the our first recipient!

Devin Carter (Providence): 5 Games - 17.0 ppg / 7.6 reb / 3.4 ast / 1.6 stl / 1.4 blk

Devin Carter has been the heartbeat of this Friars program. He leads Providence in almost every category, has been the catalyst of the offense early on in the season. His latest efforts came in the form of 19 points, in a win over Georgia in the Baha Mar Hoops Bahamas Championship.
