Rowan Alexander "RJ" Barrett Jr. The Knicks 2019 first-round pick. The Duke star. The godson of Steve Nash. The future of the Knicks. But not an NBA All-Rookie?
Listen, I am not riding his coattails, he was no ROY candidate. He was a raw talent that flashed his skill here and there. He was at minimum All-Rookie Second Team. RJ Barrett finished in the top five amongst rookies in points, rebounds, assists, and steals. That's good, right?
Diving deeper. The numbers are what gets me. RJ Barrett played slightly better than many of the players on the awards list.

So what is the criteria to make the team? Amongst the players mentioned above, he was first in points, 4th in rebounds, and third in assists. He also averaged a steal a game too. It is not the largest honor to be presented with, but it is still a slight on the young baller. This is just some fuel to add to his fire.
For now, enjoy his season-one highlights. Year Two, GET READY. #KnicksTape
