There has never been someone less excited to make an All-Star Game than Seattle Kraken's Oliver Bjorkstrand.

We learned tonight the group of 32 players that were selected by the NHL to play in the 2024 NHL All-Star Game at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on February 3rd. It was headlined by 7x All-Star Connor McDavid, NHL Rookie Phenom Connor Bedard, and goal leader and Maple Leaf's host, Auston Matthews.

For Seattle, Oliver Bjorkstrand became the third Kraken player ever chosen for the honor, and it was his first time ever being selected in his eighth NHL season. The Danish forward has had a nice little season, tallying 29 points on 11 goals. You would think he would be stoked that he would be representing his team in Toronto, right?

"Oh wow... okay". I was NOT expecting that response on my timeline today. I'll chalk this one up to being from Denmark, even though I thought the Danes were happy and friendly people. Either way, what a response.

First off, why would Seattle post this video? It just makes Bjorkin look ungrateful, and makes Seattle look silly. Secondly, I don't blame the guy for wanting a good ole vacation. He gets to be with his wife and kids in sunny San Diego for a few days, and now he has to ship it up to Canada and work. I am sure the family is thrilled. But finally, does the All-Star game have no more value anymore? I know the Pro-Bowl is a joke, the NBA all-star weekend is just a LeBron games buddy weekend, and the MLB midsummer classic people only care about the home run derby. Do players really not give a shit in hockey?
