Xavier McKinney and Quincy Roches come up clutch to secure the win against the Raiders

It's nice to be able to watch the rest of Sunday slate when the Giants secure the win in the 1 o'clock window. Positive vibes beating a top tier team at home while heading into the bye. Daniel Jones kept it competitive, but the defense was the reason the Giants secured the win. Coming off a short week and an emotional loss to the Chiefs, this was a great bounce back win against very competitive 5-2 (now 5-3) Raiders.

The G-Men 23, the Rrrrraiders 16

Nothing was sweeter than the ending. Rookie Quincy Roche, who forced the fumble of sacking Derek Carr. Leonard Williams recovered the ball with 30 seconds remaining, closing out the game in style. The 6th round pick out of Miami was cut by the Steelers prior to the season starting. He now has earned his role and should be a formidable starter for weeks to come.

Key Takeaways

The offense has it woes, but some players made the most out of it today

Devontae Booker, who unfortunately ended up leaving with an injury, rushed for nearly 100 yards and getting worked into the receiving game as well. Evan Engram is on a little hot streak, snagging a touchdown in back-to-back weeks. It's infuriating that Kadarius Toney only got one pass. They tried to use him in that passer role a little today, but it makes no sense why he wasn't targeted more. With no Shepard and John Ross, Golladay getting worked back in, he should've been utilized much more.

The defense is the breadwinner for the Giants

Hats off to Patrick Graham, who is making the most out of a defense that lost stars in Blake Martinez and Jabrill Pepper for the year. The Giants are making the most out of the drawer, and today they forced three turnovers against a soaring Raiders offense. Xavier McKinney gets the game ball with two interceptions, a pick-six, seven total tackles and two passes defended. Lights out from the Alabama kid! An absolute steal in the second round last year.

Next Game

A much needed bye after a short week. When they come back on the 21st they'll take on Tom Brady and the Bucs. Expect Saquon Barkley to be back, and everyone else's injuries to start to clear up. Interesting development this week, the Falcons currently own the No.7 spot in the NFC with a 4-4 record. Giants are 3-6. Are we on to something?
