DMV Star of the Week - Bryce Harris

Every week, across several sports, players around the DMV (D.C./Maryland/Virginia) shine in individual performance. Every Monday, I’d like to take a minute to highlight some of those performances, including what I view as the best performance and name that athlete the “DMV Star of the Week.”

This week’s DMV Star of the Week is Howard basketball Guard Bryce Harris

Howard put together a terrific performance on Sunday on the road in Philadelphia against La Salle, defeating the Explorers 71-66.

The Bison were led by Marcus Dockery, who finished with 21 points, but it was the play of Bryce Harris that was the major difference for Howard winning the game.

The 6’4” guard from Brentown, NY scored 18 points and snagged 13 rebounds while adding 2 assists and a block in the win.

It was Harris’ first double-double of the season, and it couldn’t have come at a better time.

The Bison return to action on Wednesday against Yale in DC before opening up conference play on Saturday @ NC Central.

The DMV saw nine teams in action this past week, including the Washington Commanders, Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals, the Maryland football team, and the Maryland, Georgetown, George Washington, Howard, and American basketball teams

Here are some honorable mention performances for DMV Star of the Week:

  • Maryland basketball Forward JuJu Reese had another double-double in the Terps 75-53 win over Coppin State, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the victory
