Despite the final score, the Jets, specifically the starters, had a very lackluster game last night on Monday Night Football. Being held to just 3 points in the first half, the Jets first team offense (minus Joe Flacco) was stifled by Atlanta's below average defense. Mike White, the de facto starter for Week 2's Monday night game, struggled to put together a single successful drive, finishing with a stat line of 12 for 17 passing with just 90 yards through the air.
The starting defense offered little to be happy about as well, especially the secondary. Bryce Hall, specifically, was absolutely cooked. Out of four targets, Hall gave up four catches for 90 yards and a touchdown. Each catch resulted in a first down, and quarterbacks throwing against him finished with a perfect passer rating of 158.3.
One bright spot from last night's game was the performance of Chris Streveler. If there wasn't a 3rd-string quarterback competition before the preseason, there is one now. Chris Streveler, the former CFL quarterback turned preseason legend, put on a show last night, leading the Jets to their 13-point comeback win. Streveler was 8 of 11 for 119 yards, while adding 33 yards on the ground.
The Jets finish off the preseason next Sunday, August 28th, against the Giants.
