PHOTOS: The Friars keep rolling. No 21 Providence takes down No 15 Seton Hall at home, 12-1 start.

Updated: Oct 25, 2022

Yesterday marked a big milestone day for the Providence Friars.

  • 12-1 this season

  • 2-0 verse the Big East this year

  • 5-0 against Quad-1 Teams

  • 9-0 when John Fanta is in the building

  • Nate Watson scored his 1,500th point as a Friar

Five Friars scored double digits, including Noah Horchler's 17 points and 13 rebounds, that helped carry No. 21 Providence to a 70-65 victory over No. 15 Seton Hall

"It was a big win for the Friars. We played a talented team... it was a Big East battle, a Big East War. When you play in this league, you know you're going to be in for a tough one" - Coach Ed Cooley

Yesterday also marked the first time the Friars dawned throwbacks this season. The Twitter world saw reminiscence of the great Otis Thorpe with the vintage white and gold uniforms.

"These are the best uniforms I've played in before", guard Jared Bynum said after the game. Coach Ed Cooley whipped his head towards Bynum, gave a big laugh and smile and shouted "They're making a comeback!"
