The Bronx Tales: Matt Carpenter is ready to roll! How does the lineup change with him in it?

From Aaron Boone's comments to this video, it looks like Matt Carpenter is BACK. The Yankees missed his presence since injuring his foot on August 8th. Rightfully so, he batted .305 with 15 homers and 37 RBI's. Having that back in the lineup is very comforting.

Carp offers 50 games of postseason experience from the Cardinals, as well as immense versatility for this team. This season, he started 16 games at DH, 12 in right field, 5 at first base, 3 in left field, and 2 at third base.

Aaron Boone will have some decisions to make regarding the lineup, because Carpenter needs to be in it, but what are the corresponding moves to do so? As of now, Boone said he'll be a plug in off the bench. I'd disagree, but we will find out in a few short hours.

If Matt Carpenter is the DH

  • Aaron Judge - RF

  • Harrison Bader - CF

  • Giancarlo Stanton - LF

If Matt Carpenter is in Left Field

  • Aaron Judge - RF

  • Harrison Bader - CF

  • Giancarlo Stanton - DH

If Matt Carpenter is in Right Field

  • Oswaldo Cabrera - LF

  • Aaron Judge - CF

  • Giancarlo Stanton - DH

If Matt Carpenter is at Third Base (If DJ LeMahieu is Out)

  • Isiah Kiner Falefa - SS

  • Gleyber Torres - 2B

  • Anthony Rizzo - 1B

If Matt Carpenter is at First Base (Unlikely)

  • Anthony Rizzo - DH

  • Giancarlo Stanton - LF

  • Harrison Bader - CF

  • Aaron Judge - RF

Either way, if his bat as efficient as it was before his injury, no matter where he is on the field, the Yankees are going to succeed.
