  • Head Coach: Ron Rivera (4th season, 26-32-1 record in Washington)

  • Record: 4-5 (0-2, 3rd in NFC East)

  • Last Time Out: Won @ New England 20-17 on 11/5/23

  • Player to Watch: Sam Howell

A great team win for the Commanders in Week 9 over New England was sealed with an interception by Washington’s rookie safety Jartavius Martin, his first ever INT.

The 20-17 victory was much-needed for Washington, which had lost five of its last six games heading into Sunday.

Quarterback Sam Howell dazzled once again, throwing for over 300 yards for the second straight game, finishing with 325 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.

In his first season as the starter, it seems pretty clear that Howell is Washington’s quarterback of the future, despite uncertainty nearly everywhere else across the roster and coaching staff.

This week, the Commanders play their second straight roadgame, this time at Seattle, where they are 7-1 all-time against the Seahawks.

If the Washington defense can get pressure on Geno Smith and Sam Howell can continue to carry the Commanders offense, the team can definitely get back to .500 with a surprising victory as nearly a 7-point underdog.

  • Head Coach: Pete Carroll (14th season, 133-84-1 record in Seattle)

  • Record: 5-3 (1-1, 2nd NFC West)

  • Last Time Out: Lost @ Baltimore 37-3 on 11/5/23

  • Player to Watch: Geno Smith

The Seahawks are one of those teams that, at the halfway point of the season, it’s still too early to tell just how good they might be.

Seattle is 5-3, with wins over Detroit, Carolina, the Giants, Cardinals, and Browns, with losses to the Rams, Bengals, and Ravens.

The most recent loss in Baltimore was by 34 to a Ravens team that is on fire. In the game, Seattle’s offense was outgained 515-151 in total yards, turned it over twice, and had over 20 minutes less of possession time.

The Seahawks ran for just 28 yards in the game, compared to Baltimore’s 298, while Quarterback Geno Smith was sacked 4 times.

It was easily Seattle’s worst performance of the year.

This week, the Seahawks return home, where they have not lost since Week 1, but have historically struggled against Washington, beating the Commanders just once in eight tries all-time at home.

Expect Head Coach Pete Carroll to have his team ready to play in what is a huge game for the Seahawks, who are looking to get the season back on track.
