  • Record: 4-2 (1-0, 1st in NFC East)

  • Last Time Out: Lost @ Baltimore 30-23 on 10/13/24

  • Player to Watch: Jayden Daniels

Washington played right with one of the best teams in the NFL last weekend, falling in Baltimore to the Ravens 30-23.

In just his fifth NFL start, rookie QB Jayden Daniels went toe-to-toe with the two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson, as his impressive first season continued.

Despite the loss, Washington remains atop the NFC East with one-third of the year already behind us.

On Sunday, the Commanders host the struggling Carolina Panthers in what should be a good test for the Washington defense.

For Daniels and the offense, they should have no trouble moving the ball against Carolina. Depending on if the Commanders can find the end zone or kick field goals will lead to this game being close or more of a potential runaway for Washington.

  • Head Coach: Dave Canales (1st season, 1-5 record in Carolina)

  • Record: 1-5 (0-2, 4th in NFC South)

  • Last Time Out: Lost vs. Atlanta 38-20 on 10/13/24

  • Player to Watch: Andy Dalton

As many expected, it’s been a rough go for first-year Head Coach Dave Canales and the Carolina Panthers.

After week 2, Canales benched second-year QB and 2023 1st overall pick Bryce Young, opting to start Andy Dalton from Week 3 onward.

Since, the Panthers are 1-3, but have been much-improved on the offensive side of the football.

Under Young, the team put up 13 total points in two weeks. Under Dalton, they’re averaging 22.5 PPG through four games.

Unfortunately, the defensive woes have continued. Carolina ranks 29th in total defense in the league and dead last in points allowed, giving up nearly 34 points per contest.

Even with the offense improving, it’s almost impossible to win games if you’re giving up 30+ each week. Now, the Panthers get to play a Commanders team with a prolific offense and a below average defense.

It’ll be on Andy Dalton and the Panthers offense to possess the ball with long drives and keep pace with the high-flying Commanders. If they don’t Sunday’s game in Landover could get ugly fast.
