Week 3 picks, weekly matchups, and this leagues waiver wire activity
We are onto the third week of the NFL, and tonight we have Minshew Mania vs Fitzmagic. Mustache versus the Beard, the battle as old as time. There are a lot of great games this week, there are also a lot of toss ups. The biggest of them all, which many say will be the AFC Championship matchup, is the game of undefeated beasts. Ravens vs. the Cheifs face off on Monday night.
With all of the injuries from last week, the teams in this league were very busy making moves to better their teams.
What went down in the Waivers
The first move was to bolster TE depth, with Kittle being in question and Engram performing sub-par. The first move was to add Lions TE, TJ Hockenson. After seeing the hype of Jonnu Smith of the Titans and his three TDs, Will ended up dropping his newly added TE for Smith. Tondo also wanted to swap out his backup running backs. He dropped Sony Michel of the Patriots and Zack Moss of the Bills for newly acquired Giants RB Devonta Freeman and 49ers RB Jerrick McKinnon. Freeman will need to get his feet wet again and learn the playbook, while McKinnon can offer more value if Mostert and Coleman are out.
Chris had to drop his first-round pick, Saquon Barkley, due to a season-ending ACL injury. He did not add any running back depth at this time, but he did add... a kicker? Josh Lambo of the Jaguars is on the IR, so he added Falcons Kicker, Younghoe Koo, who has played quite well.
His first move was to swap defenses, dropping the Bears and adding the Buccaneers. He also dropped Texans RB, Duke Johnson, because of an incoming...
Ben receives: Josh Jacobs (RB-Raiders) and Allen Robinson II (WR-Bears)
Mastrianni receives: Michael Thomas (WR-Saints)
Who won this trade?
Heading over to Zach's squad. Mastrianni added Mike Davis, running back for the Panthers. With CMC out for a few weeks, he is expected to produce decent numbers. He dropped Rams RB, Malcolm Brown. Zach also added the Browns defense for their matchup against Washington. He then swapped QBs, dropping Daniel Jones, and hoping on the Minshew Mania train with Gardner Minshew.
Basel was busy this week. Sam dropped two injured running backs. Le'Veon Bell of the Jets and Tevin Coleman of the 49ers. He added Bell's backup, Frank Gore, and Saints WR, Tre'Quan Smith. He also added the productive TE out of Miami, Mike Gesicki.
James dropped Colts RB Marlon Mack while adding Bengals TE Drew Sample. Drew Sample will see more opportunity to score points with C.J. Uzomah out for the year.
Ryan added QB Ryan Tannehill while dropping Miami's RB Matt Breida. Tannehill is playing quite well in his second season with the Titans.

Co-Founders and Roommates, Will and Jake, are facing off this week to see who can hand who their first lost. Both are projected 126 points. Mastrianni looks to gain his first win while dishing Hanold his first loss. Basel looks to bounce back, while Ford is also seeking his first win. James and Ben face-off, both playing their second game. Ryan gets the bye this week.
